CovertLunch is an independent product. No VC backing, no acquisition target, no growth-at-all-costs roadmap. The whole company is one person who needed to defend his own lunch hour and built the tool that did it.

Jason Madhosingh (madho) is the founder of madgood, a fractional CMO practice for social impact organizations. He spent 20+ years in product and marketing roles at companies including Disney, Nokia, American Express, and 1stdibs before turning to building small software tools paired with AI agents. CovertLunch is one of those tools — born from a personal need to defend his own lunch hour from calendar creep.
Why CovertLunch exists
The product started as a personal workaround. After two decades in product and marketing roles at companies like Disney, Nokia, American Express, and 1stdibs, the calendar got worse, not better. Lunch was always the first hour to give way.
The lunch block titled "Lunch" gets booked over. The block titled "Focus Time" gets booked over. The block titled "Pipeline Review" does not, because nobody knows what is on the other side of that title.
CovertLunch automates that single trick. Realistic randomized calendar events written into your lunch window each morning. No pattern to learn, no label to override. The first version was a Chrome extension built for one user (the founder); enough other people asked for it that it became a product.
Editorial policy
CovertLunch publishes research-backed articles on calendar defense, meeting overload, and the science of lunch breaks. Every article is written by a named human, dated, and cites its sources.
- Sources are linked. Studies, surveys, and public statements are linked to the original source where possible. When a primary source is paywalled or removed, we say so.
- No fabricated stats. Numeric claims are sourced from peer-reviewed research, government data, named consultancies, or our own customer interviews (clearly labeled).
- No fake reviews or testimonials. We do not publish AI-generated user quotes. We do not embed fabricated aggregateRating schema. When real customer quotes are used, they are real and attributed with permission.
- Health and mental health content carries an editorial note. Articles touching health are clearly labeled as not medical advice and have not been reviewed by a licensed clinician unless that is explicitly stated.
- Corrections. If you find an error in any article, email editorial@covertlunch.com and we will correct it visibly, with a dated note.
- AI disclosure. Articles are researched and drafted with the help of AI tools and then edited by a human. Sources are verified independently before publication.

CovertLunch is an independent Delaware C-corp. The Chrome extension runs entirely in your browser; the optional cloud service is hosted on minimal serverless infrastructure in US-East.
